It was a very stormy start to the C~N~Do Scotland Skye trail with the tail end of a hurricane blowing through bringing some very heavy windy rain!
The weather forced a little shuffling of the days and their order to make the best of the weather…
We were meant to be walking from Broadford to Torrin to Elgol to Sligachan to Portree to Storr to Uig to Flodigarry to Rubh Huinish. Instead we played the weather to enjoy the potential of some great days walking!
The weather forecast delivered as hoped as we enjoyed scorching sunshine walking through Glen Sligachan…
The descent into Camasunary after the walk over from Kilmarie in another change to itinerary proved a real treat with the Black Cuillinn looking very impressive!
All the way through the scent of the heather and the colour were incredible and the rivers had dropped to near effortless crossings.
Back onto the scheduled itinerary we were heading for the Trotternish ridge via the Storr on a moody looking morning that turned into another sesational day of walking on one of the best walks in the highlands!
We had Golden Eagles soaring nearby as we ate lunch before descending into Uig to enjoy a fine sunset after a long and perfect day.
It was another misty day turning into sunny spells as we walked beneath the impressive cliffs of the Quiraing.
The last days walk met with surprising rain and excessively strong winds compared to the weather forecast and some quick changes to the plan allowed us to finish a very eventful journey in one piece!
