The Mamores were in great condition as I met up with Duncan for a walk up from the Kinlochleven side. It was a good morning as we climbed up through the woodlands above Kinlochleven and there was even a bit of sunshine on the summit of Mam na Gualainn. Our plan was to work our way up to Stob Coire a’Chairn and see how things went with the possibility of Am Bodach if we felt like it. It was extremely icy once we reached the snow-line and gaining the ridge was a tough climb with a very cold and fairly strong wind gusting in from the south. Crampons were necessary for safe travel and once we had reached our first summit to take in the views we opted to descend the way we had come as the conditions were not quite so pleasant anymore. It was a lovely walk and the views of Am Bodach where fantastic!
