I’m a professional hill walking guide based in Newtonmore in the Cairngorms National Park and guide walks all over the Scottish Highlands.
I’ve been fascinated by mountains and the outdoors since I was young when camping trips in the Scottish Highlands were an annual event and exploring the local area introduced me to the magic of the outdoors!
My interest in the mountains and nature lead me to study Physical Geography & Geology before deciding to work in the outdoors as a Mountain Leader and hill walking guide. I’m a fully qualified International Mountain Leader and Winter Mountain Leader, which means I can operate all year round in the Scottish mountains and lead treks overseas. I am working towards my Mountain Bike Leader qualification and already hold the Trail Cycle Leader award.
You’ll find my Mountain Training profile by clicking on the logo below which shows the full mountain awards that I hold as well as more information about these qualifications.
This site has information about my professional and personal adventures in mountains and wild places. When I’m not working I am often found exploring wild places, climbing mountains, cycling or just watching the natural world go by…
I hope you enjoy sharing my adventures both as a qualified mountain leader and lover of the wild and often wet places in Scotland!
